Kris Knight witnesses greatness again

THE RIVAL SONS. Need I say more?

As most of you know that listen fairly often, I am obsessed with Rival. From their videos to their live shows, I am a true fan, through and through. I know the words to their songs and am one of those annoying folks in the crowd who gets a little… crazy. I recognize this and still continue my path because when it comes to this band, I don’t care what people think of me.

My husband purchased these tickets to see Rival Sons in Nashville at Cannery Ballroom as a Christmas present. We had no idea what the overall plan would be, but once time got a bit closer to the show, we knew that driving had to be our option because flights were ungodly expensive. So, with bags packed, we traveled the 13 hours by car to get to Nashville.

Cannery Ballroom was filled with fans and curious music lovers alike. Everyone was just ready to have a fun Friday night in Nashville. Once the band hit the stage, it was guns blazing. From “Hollow Bones” to “Electric Man,” “Jordan” to “Tied Up,” they covered the major players in their library. The intensity never stopped, and I sang at the top of my lungs.

My husband and I don’t come together on the same music often, but RS is the band we can always come back around to. We will be seeing them again. It’s not a matter of when, but where. And I hope that in your lifetime, you get to do the same. The feelings they put into a room are magnetic. You can’t look away and you can’t help but find emotions with each note.

The staff of KBAD will continue to play their tunes for our listeners and we will cross our fingers that they will be back in this area once again. And when that happens, I’ll be in the front row.
