KBAD Out for Blood
On Friday, June 2nd KBAD teamed up with the Community Blood Bank to help save lives with our third Bi-Annual blood drive!
With the beautiful weather, listeners joined us to play lawn games and enjoy lunch from Sub Hub while rocking out to KBAD on the radio – and save lives.
The Community Blood Bank goes through around 550 units of blood every week in Sioux Falls, helping everyone from cancer patients, to babies, crash victims, etc.
Each individual donation can potentially save three lives – and the complete donation process takes only about 30 minutes.
Requirements to donate:
- A donor must be 17 years old (16 with a signed Parental Consent Form)
- Be in good general health and weigh at least 110lbs.
- Eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.
- I.D. is required at the time of donation.
Last year alone, KBAD was able to help 408 patients with our 136 donations!
We are hoping to keep those numbers growing with each drive we host.
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing listeners for your donations and saving lives right here in the Sioux Falls Community.
