Are you a dynamic talented sales leader and motivator?? Are you a creative, pro-active problem solver? KBAD Radio and Badlands Motor Speedway are looking for a self-starter with leadership skills to be our Producing Sales Manager.  This successful candidate needs to be a competitive over-achiever who can demonstrate to us that they have work intensity, can solve problems and utilize out of box thinking to generate revenue.

KBAD Radio station serves the South Dakota market as the #1 rock radio station placing 1st in the last 2 books and featuring live jocks on the air daily.  Badlands Motor Speedway is an American dirt track racing complex located in Brandon, South Dakota with 62 years of rich racing history.

The Producing Sales Manager works under the direction of ownership and work closely with the station and track general managers.  This person will be expected to lead and grow the KBAD Radio and Badlands Motor Speedway’s client portfolios in the Sioux Falls market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/Lead KBAD 94.5 & Badlands Motor Speedway Sales Department.
  • Deliver and exceed revenue goals set by the company.
  • Work directly with account executives to ensure they hit their goals.
  • Manage Budgets
  • Secure meetings and lead presentations with prospective clients and partners.
  • Negotiate with agencies/clients on all details of campaigns.
  • Effectively communicate/present all of our verticals of Radio and Badlands Motor Speedway Race Events to existing and prospective clients where it makes sense for the brand.
  • Successfully manage and entertain client expectations.
  • Maintain weekly pending reports for accurate accounting of all pending/working business.
  • Must ensure all commercials fall within FCC guidelines.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours at times based on client’s schedule.  Normal business hours are Monday – Friday 9am to 6pm.

  • Proven ability to be self-motivating and work independently, as well as operate in fast-paced team environment.
  • Proven track record of leadership/management and motivational abilities.
  • Aggressive leadership style that will train, motivate and produce results.
  • Problem Solver: Brings solutions not just problems, understands client needs, strategic.
  • Strong knowledge in radio and a general knowledge of large public event marketing.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical abilities for strategic sales development.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and present promotional and research supported concepts that respond directly to clients’ marketing efforts.

Education, Training & Work Experience:

  • A four year college degree in sales, advertising or marketing is recommended.
  • A minimum of 2-5 year’s media sales management experience is required.

Special Requirements, Licenses & Certificates

  • You must provide your own transportation.
  • You must maintain car insurance at all times.

Position Summary

  • Generate the income from advertising and other revenue streams
  • Sell the benefits to agencies and clients of the business as an marketing medium
  • Ability to hit agreed revenue targets on a regular basis
  • Work closely with team members involved in marketing, sponsorship, promotions, events, publicity and programming
  • Ensure clients receive a consistently high quality of service
  • Establish and develop long-term business relationships
  • Sourcing, identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Generating creative solutions for clients
  • Presenting proposals
  • Make the sale
  • Deliver accurate reports and forecasts of revenue
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Producing reports and forecasts
  • Assisting with the resolution of problems about payments and revenue collection
  • Must ensure all commercials fall within the FCC guidelines which are located in the employee handbook, radio addendum
  • Must be willing to work some nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Minimum hours expected to work are Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm, however this may vary based upon your clients schedule
  • Dress appropriately for your position and the day you have planned
  • Be on time to work and your client meetings

Education, Training and Work Experience:

  • A four college degree in sales, advertising or marketing is preferred, but not required
  • A minimum of 3 years outside and B to B sales is required

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
